Evolving from the hollow seam and single standing seam systems, the double standing seam system provides tried-and-tested metal roofing systems with specific advantages in various applications.

Features

Key features of RHEINZINK double lock standing seam include:

  • Attractive, slim appearance suitable for integration into traditional or modern building designs
  • Ideal for shallow roof slopes, starting from a gradient of 3°
  • Adaptable to various building elements, including those with complex architectural designs such as tapered, concave, or convex rounded surfaces
  • Economical installation with standing seam panels up to 7 m long, and flexibility to use panel lengths of up to 16 m, even on roofs with large surface areas
  • Rainproof seams that protect the building structure from wind and weather
  • Flexibility for planners and specialists to choose between manual or machine production of double standing seams

Installation

The double standing seam can be installed on roofs with inclinations as low as 3°. Seam sealant tapes are necessary for roof inclinations from 3° to 7° and in areas prone to ice dam formation near the eaves. Profile edges are formed using roll formers or by hand, and seams are sealed using a seam sealer machine or manually.

Stainless steel fixed and sliding clips are used to attach double standing seam systems, with corrosion-protected screws meeting high durability standards. For rapid and secure assembly, the RHEINZINK CLIPFIX autofeed screwdriver and specially developed RHEINZINK clips are available.

Application and Use in Construction

RHEINZINK double lock standing seam systems are suitable for roofing and exterior applications, providing long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal. Crafted from zinc/aluzinc, these systems offer durability and performance in diverse architectural settings.
