YUANGU Restaurant, envisioned by YUANGU Corporation WUZHI Design, stands as a serene sanctuary within the bustling Chengdu Yuanyang Taikooli. Situated across the second and third floors, this culinary haven boasts a unique structure that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.
Navigating Spatial Challenges
One of the distinctive features of YUANGU Restaurant is its unconventional layout, with the entrance located on the second floor and the main commercial area situated on the third floor. A long and narrow staircase serves as the connecting thread between these two levels, presenting logistical challenges for the operational team. As a response, the design of the entrance becomes paramount, with a focus on utilizing old stone and wood to enhance the façade and set the tone for the entire experience.
Embracing Nature’s Harmony
Upon entering the restaurant, guests are enveloped in a sense of tranquility reminiscent of a meditative courtyard, with a gentle ray of light beckoning from the distance. The transition to the third floor reveals an exquisite courtyard, where bamboo and stones coalesce against a backdrop of sky and earth. Here, amidst the small yet impactful space, patrons can connect with nature and experience the nuances of the changing seasons.
A Thoughtfully Divided Space
YUANGU Restaurant’s business area is thoughtfully divided into three distinct parts. The first encompasses the kitchen, private rooms, and toilets, strategically placed to minimize disruptions. The second section comprises the bar, courtyard, and long-seat area, each complementing the other in a harmonious interplay of landscapes. Finally, the lobby, with its serene water feature, offers a secluded retreat for patrons seeking respite from the bustling ambiance.
