Historical Restoration and Modernization

The redevelopment of Principe Amedeo 5 in Milan, formerly the American consulate headquarters, represents a harmonious blend of historical preservation and contemporary functionality. The project, led by Vittorio Grassi Architetto & Partners, involved restoration, extension, and interior design to create a prestigious office space.

Integrating Tradition and Innovation

Dating back to the mid-nineteenth century, the original building boasts an elegant facade and a characteristic internal courtyard. The restoration project aimed to preserve these historical features while accommodating the needs of modern office environments, providing flexibility and versatility across its five floors.

Embracing Environmental Sustainability

In addition to preserving historical elements, the project prioritized environmental sustainability. Designed to obtain LEED Gold certification, the building utilizes recycled or recyclable materials and incorporates energy-efficient technologies such as air heat pumps and photovoltaic panels on the roof.

Enhancing Workspaces and Amenities

Internally, the project reinterprets historical elements with refined textures and materials, creating a distinctive ambiance in common areas and offices alike. Elegant windows, diffused lighting, raised floors, and upscale bathroom finishes contribute to a modern and comfortable working environment.

Future Ownership and Management

Owned by the Thesaurus fund of Kryalos SGR, the property underwent acquisition from Covivio in December 2020. This change in ownership ensures continued investment in the maintenance and management of the building, further solidifying its position as a premier office space in Milan.
